The Asylum Industries website has finally had it's third makeover.
We've been looking to move to a CMS system for a good while now. We
didn't like the look of PHP Nuke, so this is running Mambo. CMS refers to Content Management System. No longer will we have to open Dreamweaver to make any additions to the content, it's all done through a web browser.
In theory, any of our Members will be able to add their own news
articles, or post links under the links area. We've been using our
forum for this purpose for over a year and, the forum has become
bloated and really needs to be moved from a DBM file to a SQL database
if it's going to remain stable. Rather than just upgrade our fourm, we
wanted to make sure the new site is as streamlined as possible. It
needed to easy to update, have room for expansion (Mambo has lots of plug-ins!), and more future proof.
